Biocon Receives Health Canada Approval for Yesintek® (ustekinumab) Autoinjector Pen

Biocon Limited’s subsidiary in Canada has received Notice of Compliance (NOC) approval for Yesintek® (ustekinumab) Autoinjector 45 mg/0.05 mL and 90 mg/mL from Health Canada. Health Canada previously granted Notice of Compliance for Yesintek® (solution for subcutaneous injection) 45 mg/0.5ml (prefilled syringe and vial) and 90mg/ml (prefilled syringe) and Yesintek® I.V. (solution for intravenous infusion) 130 mg/26 mL (5mg/mL) in October 2025.

Biocon Biologics Receives Health Canada Approval for Yesintek™ and Yesintek™ I.V. (ustekinumab), a Biosimilar to Stelara®

TORONTO, Ontario, Canada and BENGALURU, Karnataka, India: October 23, 2025 Biocon Biologics Ltd (BBL), a fully integrated global biosimilars company and subsidiary of Biocon Ltd. (BSE: 532523, NSE: BIOCON), today announced that Health Canada has granted a Notice of Compliance (NOC) for Yesintek™ (ustekinumab injection) and Yesintek™ I.V. (ustekinumab for injection, solution for intravenous infusion), a biosimilar to Stelara® (ustekinumab injection) and Stelara® I.V. (ustekinumab for injection, solution for intravenous infusion). The approval was granted on October 17, paving the way for Canadian commercial availability in mid-October. Biocon Biologics’ Yesafili® (aflibercept) Now Publicly Funded in Ontario, Canada for the Advanced Treatment of Patients with Retinal Diseases

(BSE code: 532523, NSE: BIOCON), is pleased to announce that Yesafili® (aflibercept), a biosimilar to Eylea® (aflibercept) injection, in vial and prefilled syringe presentations, 2 mg/0.05 mL is now publicly funded on the Ontario Drug Benefit Formulary/Comparative Drug Index for the advanced treatment of patients with retinal diseases in Canada. YESAFILI was the first biosimilar to EYLEA to be approved by Health Canada. The Ontario Drug Benefit (ODB) Formulary is the official listing that determines which prescription medicines are covered under the public insurance system in Ontario, Canada’s largest province. This listing, which was effective August 29, 2025, ensures eligible patients will be covered through public funding, improving access to care. Biocon Biologics Secures Canada Market Entry Date for YESAFILI®, a Proposed Biosimilar to EYLEA® – Biocon Biologics

Biocon Biologics Ltd (BBL), a globally integrated biosimilars company and a subsidiary of Biocon Ltd (BSE code: 532523, NSE: BIOCON), has announced the signing of a settlement with Bayer Inc. and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. This Agreement paves the way for the introduction of YESAFILI®, a proposed biosimilar to EYLEA® (aflibercept) Injection, into the Canadian market. Under the terms of the agreement, Biocon Biologics has secured a  launch date for YESAFILI® 2 mg NDS for vials and prefilled syringes (yet to be filed), set no later than July 1, 2025. In March 2023, Health Canada had granted tentative approval for YESAFILI® 2 mg vials, subject to resolution of any patent issues. The settlement resolves multiple parallel patent infringement proceedings in the Federal Court of Canada involving six patents, and associated judicial review proceedings, under Canada’s Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) Regulations addressing pre-entry pharmaceutical patent litigation.

Stephanie Vincelette

Chef de la gamme de produits d’ophtalmologie

Stephanie Vincelette, chef de la gamme de produits d’ophtalmologie chez Biocon Biologics au Canada, dirige l’entrée de l’entreprise dans le paysage de l’ophtalmologie. Dans le cadre de ses fonctions, elle gère les ventes et le marketing de YesafiliMD (aflibercept), une préparation d’aflibercept biosimilaire utilisée dans le traitement de différentes maladies oculaires.

Son expérience professionnelle lui a permis de faire l’acquisition d’un vaste éventail de compétences, ce qui fait d’elle un atout à titre de chef de la gamme de produits d’ophtalmologie. Avant d’occuper ce poste, elle exerçait récemment les fonctions de chef de district pour les produits biosimilaires chez Biocon Biologics. Les postes de direction qu’elle a occupés par le passé lui confèrent une solide expérience en matière de vente et de gestion de produits. Stephanie a consacré sa carrière à l’industrie pharmaceutique. Avant de joindre Biocon Biologics en 2023, elle a travaillé pour des entreprises telles que Abbott, Mylan et Viatris.

Stephanie est titulaire d’un baccalauréat de l’Université Concordia et agréée du Conseil de formation pharmaceutique continue.

Sukhvir Hundal

Directrice – Affaires réglementaires

Sukhvir Hundal a joint Biocon Biologics à titre de directrice des Affaires réglementaires en août 2023. Elle possède plus de 25 ans d’expérience professionnelle relative aux petites molécules et aux médicaments biologiques. L’expertise de Sukhvir s’avère précieuse pour définir des stratégies à l’intention des équipes réglementaires mondiales ainsi qu’en matière de gestion de projet, d’assurance de la qualité et de gestion des approvisionnements et des équipes commerciales afin d’assurer le lancement réussi des produits biosimilaires de Biocon sur le marché canadien.

Avant de joindre Biocon Biologics, Sukhvir occupait les fonctions de première chef des Affaires réglementaires chez Viatris, dans le cadre desquelles elle a dirigé les stratégies relatives aux demandes d’autorisation des biosimilaires auprès de Santé Canada. Sukhvir est titulaire d’un baccalauréat en sciences de la vie de l’Université Queen’s.

Peter Fields

Directeur d’unité commerciale – Ventes et marketing, Oncologie et immunologie

Peter Fields dirige l’équipe des Ventes de produits biosimilaires et des comptes d’entreprise au Canada, en mettant l’accent sur le développement de partenariats avec les prestataires de services de santé, les hôpitaux et les comptes d’entreprise afin de faire en sorte que les patients aient accès à des médicaments abordables. Il a joué un rôle clé dans le lancement des activités de Biocon Biologics au Canada en se chargeant de la constitution de l’équipe responsable des ventes et des comptes d’entreprise, de l’élaboration d’un réseau de prise en charge des commandes et de la gestion des services externalisés de logistique.

Les postes qu’il a occupés au cours de ses 30 années d’activité au sein de l’industrie lui confèrent une expérience diversifiée touchant notamment aux secteurs des ventes, des affaires médicales, des politiques en matière de santé publique, de l’accès, des payeurs privés, de la tarification, de la passation de contrats et du marketing. Peter est titulaire d’un baccalauréat ès arts de l’Université de Waterloo.

Ilias Iliopoulos a rejoint Biocon en mars 2026 en tant que responsable de l’accès au marché et des services aux patients au Canada. Il apporte 30 ans d’expérience dans les domaines de l’accès au marché, de la politique de santé, des affaires médicales et de la stratégie commerciale. Il occupait jusqu’à récemment le poste de responsable des relations avec les payeurs et des partenariats stratégiques chez AstraZeneca Canada. Tout au long de sa carrière chez AstraZeneca et Merck, il s’est forgé une solide réputation de dirigeant stratégique doté d’une expertise approfondie en matière de relations avec les payeurs, d’évaluation des technologies de santé (HTA), de tarification et de remboursement.

Dans le cadre de ses fonctions, Ilias dirige le pôle « Accès au marché et services aux patients » au Canada. Il joue un rôle essentiel dans le renforcement de nos stratégies d’accès, l’amélioration des programmes d’accompagnement des patients et la mobilisation des parties prenantes, garantissant ainsi que nous continuons à tenir notre engagement d’améliorer l’accès à des biosimilaires de haute qualité pour les patients partout au Canada.

Ilias est titulaire d’une licence en sciences avec mention, spécialisée en physiologie et pharmacologie, de l’Université de Toronto, et parle couramment l’anglais et le grec.
